The Platinum is an older device conisting of a bodyworn processor and a coil with integrated microphone.  This processor is still used as start-off processor for babies who do not easily wear a BTE.

This is a hand-held diagnostic tool for teachers and parents. It provides visual confirmation (by means of a green light) that the ear-level processor is communicating with the implant and the power source is operating.
